Will, thank you for sharing. I'm sorry you're going through this as well. It really does seem backwards. I get that their situation is very unique, and that they need to protect that platform against danger. I'll never agree that this is the right way to go about it, though. "Be open" is one of their core values, yet there is a complete lack of transparency when they deal with their own costumers. I hope you are able to find a way to resolve this with Facebook. At the end of the day, I still believe Facebook is the best place to grow a business (when they let you).
